The yoga side

Cultivate is an online yoga programme for desk workers at sustainable organisations that does two things:

  1. Helps you feel healthier and happier
  2. Helps you give more back to the planet

There’s lots on offer as part of Cultivate; we have monthly themes and challenges, weekly live yoga classes and a growing library of on demand videos, with 8 new videos added each month.

All of the Cultivate classes are created with desk workers in mind, helping you to overcome the physical and mental challenges we all face from time to time. They’re easy-going, light-hearted and as we’d like to think – fun!

We have a non-dogmatic approach to teaching which isn’t defined by a particular type or style of yoga. Our classes include some more traditional yoga poses but also plenty of movements and techniques that we’ve found to be especially beneficial for people who work at desks.

We can also buy yoga mats and props for the organisations we work with using our trade discount, saving between 10% – 35% (depending on the product). If this is of interest, please get in touch.

Firstly, if you haven’t already please go and see your doctor or healthcare practitioner to get a full diagnosis of your injury or condition, be referred for specialist treatment and find out whether they think it’s suitable for you to practice yoga.

If they’re happy for you to practice then please do get in touch to let me know about your injury or condition so that we can advise you on particular on demand videos that might be helpful to you, and give you some guidance on adapting your practice for your needs.

We always teach with a focus on injury prevention and we are here to help you however best we can, however it’s your responsibility to practice yoga with lots of awareness of how your body feels, to avoid causing (further) injury.

When practising stay present, go slowly and if anything feels painful or you feel light-headed, stop right away.

The technical stuff

If your organisation has signed up to a Cultivate membership level that includes live classes, you’ll be able to RSVP to upcoming classes here on the Live Classes page. When you do this you’ll be emailed the live class access details.

You can also join live classes simply by logging into the Cultivate site 5 minutes before the class start time and clicking on the green bar on your Dashboard or on the Live Classes page.

You’ll need a Zoom account to take part in live classes. If you don’t already have one you can sign up here – it’s free and takes less than 2 minutes.

Yes 🙂 live classes are recorded and each one is made available the following day for one week. You can find the latest live class recording on the Live Classes page.

Vimeo hosts all of our videos and if there are issues with the videos playing, it’s usually down to internet speed. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Pause the video for a few minutes to allow it time to fully load
  2. Select a lower video quality from the video player, e.g 360p
  3. Make sure that your web browser is up to date 
  4. Clear your web browser cache
